WhatsApp Now Enables End-to-End Encryption By Default 730 340 GeniusTech Hub Ltd

As WhatsApp rightly put it: “Privacy and Security is in our DNA”.

As of the latest update of the popular messaging App, users can now enjoy end-to-end encryption, meaning conversations are now more secure. This option is now enabled by default so no need to mess around in the settings area of the app.

What is End-to-End Encryption?

In simple terms, it means that whenever you initiate a chat with someone, the details cannot be spied on by a third party – so to speak. Also WhatsApp does not store a copy of your chat on their server. Only you and the recipient have access to the chat section. A unique key generated when each message is sent and received, and only the other party has the key to decrypt it. Not even the team at WhatsApp can view your messages.

The call feature also has this feature enabled by default. If you are using the latest version of WhatsApp, you should see a message like this in your chats.
